Well I figured this would happen :). Welcome back! Still I wouldn't be too hard on yourself. Sometimes we just need to try other other things out. WIndows 7 was just like your very well dressed whore that ended up having some hidden diseases. Look at me and Apple, for about a year I was all about the Apple OS and their products, and now I've realized that they range from awful to pretty good, the overall cost of operation is almost always very high since Apple in general is so proprietary, and overall it's not worth the creepiness and pretentiousness that comes along with it. Plus Ubuntu 10.10 is going to support multi-touch gesturing and the GNOME desktop looks and feels great. In the end we are entering an age where we're all going to need very flexible computers, and this starts with an open source OS that's truly open source, not BS open source like OSX where most of it is open source, but when they want to hide something they at least make it very convoluted to work on. I can bash WIndows from this standpoint by simply mentioning the registry. The big companies are basically just taking and modifying tons of open source stuff at this point and just reselling it to you anyway, for a price of course. Why pay for the same stuff if you don't have to? I really wish we could get people to understand that they don't use operating systems, they use applications, and what they need from an OS is everything that GNU/Linux is all about: security, flexibility, stability, ease of use, customization, etc. (please add to what I've forgotten). We need to use Linux and demand applications for it, even if we have to pay for some, not give up and buy a Crapple or WIndoze machine just because one or two apps. that we can usually find a substitute for, run natively on Crapple and WIndoze. Anyway, welcome back!

I have the sneaking suspicion you may not enjoy these new superfluous Apple devices. Hmm... Is this potentially because now in order to be "Apple hip" you have to carry them in stock at the store?

For $13, you can get a Duracell charger with 4 AA batteries. Phantom draw? Just unplug the thing...it's not rocket science.

:) I was actually just making a joke. I love my old Honda. Still the only American car maker I'm currently impressed with is Ford and I've always liked the Mustang (well except when they made the 4-cylinder).... Still, GM and Chrysler seem to have no real intention of getting off of welfare. The Volt could have turned it around for GM, but they priced it way too high to compete with other fully electric cars and/or proven hybrids like Toyota and Ford already have. They are Government Motors indeed. Chrysler still just seems to make nice stuff that's huge, their small stuff is still mostly a joke. Also, Honda and Toyota build tons of stuff in the US. It's really just the billionaires that benefit from keeping GM and Chrysler around. If they weren't around Honda and Toyota would just increase production here, and employee more average Americans. Honestly who cares if rich Americans, like GM board members, CEO's etc. get richer when they ultimately ship jobs overseas anyway, and threaten to move their offices to the Cayman islands if we try to tax them, etc. In short we shouldn't have bailed GM and Chrysler out, they're too corrupt to fix, and they keep getting Texans from the Carlisle group, etc. to try and fix them. So essentially they're repeating the same mistakes. We should have found ways to help their employees relocate to Honda, Ford, and Toyota plants. Also, we should have made it easier for smaller companies like Sigma Automotive and Local-Motors to get bigger lines of credit to make innovative technology right here. You know, so they can grow making something that's actually good instead of GM guilt tripping us to buy Mexican, I mean American, and getting crap in return (except for the Corvette and some of their trucks of course). Perhaps it's time for an automotive post, especially with the interim CEO of GM resigning before their initial public offering. Americans need to understand that we have to work again, and take work seriously, if we expect things to change. While doing that we need to get rid of the dead weight at the top that is still making profit while hard working Americans are suffering.

Noooo! Not Toyota!

Okay, so buying a Ford or a Mazda (most made in Detroit) might not be as a good deal as it use to be, but they're still solid built and have some good performance. The Fusion and Mazda6 are practically the same car with the Fusion being heavier for ride-ability, and the Mazda6 being lighter for the nimbler response. 0% financing for 5 years, and the leasing deals are 1,500 cheaper than buying (if you decide to buy at the end of the 3 years).

Also, I like to support Michigan workers whenever I can.

And I love Mustangs; if I could I'd live every day driving one.

Thanks for the response..

So, it turns out Fry's dropped the price big-time on the Samsung adapter, selling it for $43.00. Plus, it's dual band, whereas I believe the older ones were just 2.4. So, long story short, I returned the 2.4 router that I bought and got a dual-band, plus the Samsung adapter and everything is working perfectly!

Yeah, the media should be more sensitive to this. I was also trying to read this story and got very frustrated with the Kia guy. He was super perky and happy and it just made me angry because I just wanted to know the details about the shooting...maybe a more sad commercial before a sad story would have been easier to stomach?
